The workshop instructed participants in identifying their personal talents and passions, clarifying value propositions, defining customer segments and choosing sustainable revenue streams. Participants were taught to set savings goals, explore possible income sources, and learn mechanisms for managing expenses. Emphasis was placed on aligning personal values with business vision to foster socially conscious enterprises. Experts walked students through the nine building blocks of a Business Model Canvas, enabling them to conceptualise the relationships between cost structure, key resources, and customer channels.
Held at Ajman, the event forms part of the broader Nash’e initiative, which AJBWC runs in partnership with the Private Education Coordination Office. The initiative seeks to unearth entrepreneurial potential among school and youth groups by coupling workshops, training modules and exhibitions that showcase student-led projects. Leadership from AJBWC underscored that the canvas workshop enhances participants’ ability to translate ideas into viable business plans.
Dr Amna Khalifa Al Ali, Chairwoman of AJBWC, emphasised that the workshop contributes towards fostering self‐reliance and innovation among young people while strengthening community cooperation. She noted that understanding the financial aspects—such as setting savings goals and estimating revenue versus costs—is essential to grounding entrepreneurial ambition in realism.
