Riyadh to Host Key Trade Expos for Toys, Stationery, and Gifting

Riyadh will host three co-located trade events next month, transforming the Saudi capital into a key destination for sourcing toys, stationery, and corporate gifts. From 16-18 September, the Kids & Toys Expo, Gifts & Homeware Expo, and Stationery & Paper Expo will be held at the Riyadh Front Exhibition & Conference Centre, bringing together global brands with local buyers in alignment with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 goals.

These inaugural expos, organised by dmg events, aim to create a pivotal business platform for key sectors, facilitating networking, knowledge exchange, and trade. The events, designed to foster international connections, are expected to draw participation from leading manufacturers, suppliers, and retailers within the region and beyond.

The decision to host these shows comes at a time when Saudi Arabia is prioritising diversification efforts under its Vision 2030 agenda. The Kingdom is seeking to reduce its reliance on oil and transform itself into a global trade hub. This series of trade events will not only showcase the latest innovations in the kids' toy, stationery, and gifting sectors but also offer a significant opportunity for companies to tap into the expanding Saudi and wider Middle Eastern markets.

The Kids & Toys Expo will spotlight a broad range of products aimed at young consumers, from educational toys to entertainment-focused items, reflecting the growing demand for creative and interactive solutions in the play industry. Saudi Arabia, with its youthful demographic and growing middle class, represents a fertile ground for the toy industry. Moreover, the event will serve as a meeting point for buyers and manufacturers keen on meeting the increasing demand for safe and sustainable children’s products.

At the same time, the Stationery & Paper Expo will showcase products that cater to both traditional and modern workplace needs. With remote working and digital tools gaining traction, there is an emerging interest in hybrid solutions that blend the convenience of digital tools with the tactile nature of paper-based products. The expo will explore innovations in stationery, educational supplies, office equipment, and environmentally friendly products, offering attendees insight into industry trends and future directions.

Equally significant, the Gifts & Homeware Expo is set to highlight the expanding gifting sector, particularly as Saudi Arabia experiences a rise in disposable incomes and a shift in consumer preferences. The growth in disposable income and cultural shifts toward personalisation in gifting will be evident at this expo, where global suppliers of gifts, homeware, and seasonal items will meet the needs of both the corporate and retail sectors. Key themes will include premium products, personalised gifts, and unique home accessories.

The series of expos is expected to have a broad impact, not only on trade but also on the local economy. As the Kingdom continues its push for diversification, these events contribute to the broader goal of positioning Riyadh as a major regional hub for commerce. The exhibitions will align closely with efforts to stimulate domestic entrepreneurship while attracting international investments.

Riyadh’s strategic location, combined with its modern infrastructure and commitment to business-friendly reforms, has made it an increasingly attractive destination for international trade events. The city has also benefited from significant infrastructure developments, including the Riyadh Front Exhibition Centre, which provides an ideal setting for large-scale exhibitions. The ease of access to major transport hubs and Saudi Arabia’s efforts to streamline business regulations further enhance the city’s appeal as a venue for global events.

In addition to the trade shows themselves, these events will feature valuable networking opportunities, conferences, and workshops designed to address the challenges and opportunities within the sectors represented. Key industry players, experts, and thought leaders will share insights into emerging trends, including the role of e-commerce, sustainability in manufacturing, and the digitalisation of the gifting industry.
