Riyadh Air Secures Global Partnerships to Elevate Travel Experience

Riyadh Air, the Kingdom's emerging flag carrier, has formalised 11 strategic agreements with international sales and distribution partners across more than 125 countries during the Arabian Travel Market in Dubai. These memoranda of understanding are designed to amplify the airline's global presence and streamline access to its services ahead of its inaugural flight, scheduled for later this year.

The airline, backed by the Public Investment Fund , aims to operate flights to over 100 destinations by 2030. The newly signed agreements are expected to play a pivotal role in achieving this target by enhancing brand visibility and promoting a diverse range of flight services and products. Osamah Alnuaiser, Senior Vice President of Marketing and Corporate Communications at Riyadh Air, stated that the partnerships underscore the airline's ambition to be a truly global carrier and to push the boundaries of travel for its guests.

In addition to these agreements, Riyadh Air has entered into a significant partnership with the Saudi Tourism Authority to further enhance the travel experience for passengers to and from Saudi Arabia. This collaboration focuses on several key areas, including the introduction of new routes and destinations, joint marketing activities, and the development of tourism products. STA CEO Fahd Hamidaddin emphasized that increasing Saudi Arabia's connectivity with the world is a crucial pillar of the country's tourism strategy, aiming to sustain rapid growth and meet the ambitious target of 150 million visits by 2030.

The partnership with STA also includes engagement in sponsorship opportunities, participation in global events, and collaboration in loyalty programs. These initiatives are designed to promote Saudi Arabia as a year-round destination and to provide travelers with enhanced services and experiences. Riyadh Air is expected to contribute \$20 billion to the Kingdom’s non-oil GDP and create over 200,000 new jobs globally and locally, aligning with Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 goals.

Riyadh Air's strategic expansion includes plans to facilitate 100 million visits to Saudi Arabia by 2030. The airline has received its economic license from the General Authority of Civil Aviation and has unveiled its modern livery on a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner. Operating from Riyadh as its hub, the airline aims to build connectivity from the capital city to over 100 destinations worldwide, supporting the Kingdom's broader goal of serving 330 million passengers annually by 2030.

As part of its global outreach, Riyadh Air has also initiated efforts to strengthen ties with key markets. A delegation led by CEO Tony Douglas visited India to explore potential partnerships with major airlines and regulatory bodies. During the visit, Riyadh Air appointed Bird Travels as its exclusive distribution and sales partner in India, reflecting the country's significance in the airline's network planning. The Saudi Tourism Authority aims to welcome 7.5 million visitors from India per annum by the close of the decade, with the number of Indian travelers to Saudi Arabia increasing by 50 percent in 2023.
