F1 The Movie Launching on Blu-Ray and 4K from October

“F1: The Movie” is set to hit Blu-Ray, Ultra HD Blu-Ray and DVD formats on October 7, 2025, following its digital release earlier in August. Warner Bros. is distributing the physical media, while its streaming rights remain with Apple TV+.

The film, directed by Joseph Kosinski and starring Brad Pitt, Damson Idris, Javier Bardem, Kerry Condon and Tobias Menzies, has already performed strongly at the box office worldwide. It grossed more than US$623 million on a production budget estimated between US$200-300 million, making it the highest-earning film of Pitt’s career and the most successful racing movie ever.

Digital platforms began offering the movie for rent or purchase on 22 August 2025. Viewers can now access it via services such as Amazon Prime, Apple TV+, YouTube, Google Play and Fandango at Home.

The physical media edition will include a SteelBook 4K Ultra HD + Blu-Ray version, at least in certain regions like Canada, which will be region-free for the 4K disc. That set offers HDR10 video and immersive audio formats such as Dolby Atmos and TrueHD 7.1.

Production of the film involved collaboration with real Formula One entities. The Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile supported the filming of race sequences; real world tracks and teams were used, and actual F2 cars modified for filming action. Lewis Hamilton serves as both producer and appears in the film.

While some critics praised the film for its visuals and sound design, motorsport aficionados noted liberties taken with racing realism. The film blends high-octane spectacle with a dramatic storyline: Brad Pitt’s character Sonny Hayes returns to help save the underperforming APXGP team, mentoring rookie Joshua Pearce played by Damson Idris.
