UAE, Comoros Chart Course for Deepening Ties

Abu Dhabi, UAE - In a meeting held on June 15, 2024, UAE Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan met with Dhoihir Dhoulkamal, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation, African Integration and Comorians Abroad of the Union of the Comoros. The discussion focused on solidifying the bond between the two nations and exploring avenues for broader cooperation.

Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed expressed his satisfaction with the steady progress in UAE-Comoros relations. He acknowledged the existing warmth between the countries and emphasized the mutual desire to elevate their partnership to new heights across various sectors.

Minister Dhoulkamal echoed this sentiment, extending his gratitude for the UAE's ongoing support to the Comoros. He highlighted the UAE's role in spearheading crucial development projects that have demonstrably improved the lives of Comorian citizens. The Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Hospital, a state-of-the-art medical facility built with UAE aid, was cited as a prime example of this commitment.

The discussions delved into specific areas where collaboration could be intensified. Potential for joint ventures in renewable energy, infrastructure development, and trade were all on the table. The UAE's experience in these sectors aligns with the Comoros' aspirations for economic growth and diversification.
