Sheikh Zayed Mosque Sees Massive Crowds on Laylat Al-Qadr

Over 70,000 worshippers thronged the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi for Laylat al-Qadr, marking a night of exceptional spiritual significance during Ramadan. This year's turnout surpassed expectations, solidifying the mosque's status as a beacon of faith for Muslims across the region.

Laylat al-Qadr, also known as the Night of Power, is believed to be the night when the first verses of the Quran were revealed to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). While the exact date remains unknown, it is traditionally observed during the last ten days of Ramadan. This year, a significant number of devotees flocked to the Sheikh Zayed Mosque to commemorate this holy occasion.

The awe-inspiring architecture of the mosque, known for its intricate marble work and dazzling chandeliers, provided a serene backdrop for worshippers engaged in night prayers and Quran recitation. The mosque administration made elaborate arrangements to cater to the large crowds, ensuring a smooth and spiritually enriching experience for all.

This year's attendance marked a significant increase compared to previous years. In 2023, the mosque witnessed a record-breaking 60,310 worshippers on Laylat al-Qadr. The surge in attendance this year underscores the growing importance of the Sheikh Zayed Mosque as a place of spiritual refuge and unity for Muslims worldwide.

The gathering also reflected the UAE's commitment to fostering interfaith dialogue and tolerance. The Sheikh Zayed Mosque welcomes visitors from all faiths and backgrounds, offering a platform for cultural understanding and peaceful coexistence.
