Founded in 2015, SIATT has deep roots in developing precision-guided armaments and embedded systems tailored to the Armed Forces. Its portfolio includes the Mansup anti-ship missile and its extended-range variant Mansup‑ER, the Max 1.2 AC anti‑tank missile, and the SisGAAz coastal surveillance system.
The expansion aligns directly with EDGE Group’s acquisition of a 50 percent stake in SIATT in September 2023, a move designed to accelerate industrial scale-up and export readiness. EDGE’s CEO, Hamad Al Marar, remarked that the company has moved “from a research and development plant to an impressive industrial plant,” positioning SIATT to advance Brazil’s technological autonomy in defence.
SIATT’s CEO, Rogério Salvador, emphasised the human dimension of the expansion, describing the new site not merely as infrastructure, but as the realisation of collective aspirations. He praised the commitment and passion of Team SIATT and underlined the importance of cooperation with municipal and federal authorities.
This development coincides with SIATT marking its 10th anniversary. Located in the Jardim Limoeiro district, the facility serves both administrative and operational functions, blending corporate and production demands in a single location.
The inauguration will generate around 200 direct jobs and an estimated 600 indirect roles, significantly contributing to local employment and the regional economy.
EDGE’s investment in Brazil goes beyond this facility. The conglomerate has committed around R$3 billion to local operations, including plans for two factories and collaborations with universities to foster talent pipelines, engage in technology transfer, and support public‑security efforts.
Strategic advances are also afoot in missile development. In April 2025, EDGE, SIATT and the Brazilian Navy finalised a licence agreement transferring intellectual‑property rights for the Mansup‑ER anti‑ship missile’s launch tube and combat head. Under the deal, SIATT and EDGE will coordinate production, commercialisation and royalty arrangements, while the missile is undergoing testing for integration into naval frigates by late 2025. EDGE has also entered a US$300 million supply deal with the UAE Armed Forces, and is negotiating export opportunities across Africa, Asia and Latin America.
These developments reflect an evolving strategic partnership: SIATT has scaled from a research-focused enterprise into an industrial producer, empowered by EDGE’s capital, global reach and technical alignment. Meanwhile, the Brazilian Navy benefits from enhanced domestic supply chain integration and sovereign capability development.
