Sheikh Maktoum welcomes new Iranian Consul General in Dubai

Sheikh Maktoum bin Butti Al Maktoum, Director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs office in Dubai, accepted the consular credentials of Alireza Mahmoudi, the Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran, in a diplomatic ceremony that underscores the enduring ties between the UAE and Iran. The Director extended his congratulations on the appointment and expressed hopes for the Consul General’s success in advancing bilateral relations.

The reception took place under the directive of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, emphasising the importance both nations place on their political, economic, commercial and investment cooperation. The event signals continued commitment to diplomatic engagement between the UAE and Iran.

The handover of credentials marks a formal initiation of Alireza Mahmoudi’s diplomatic role.
