UAE Hospital in Egypt Aids Gaza Strip Patients

The UAE's unique floating hospital, stationed in the Egyptian city of Al Arish, has emerged as a beacon of hope for Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. Launched in February 2024 as part of "Operation Chivalrous Knight 3, " the initiative aims to alleviate the ongoing humanitarian crisis in the region by providing vital medical services.

Equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, the hospital boasts 120 beds, alongside additional space for patient companions. With a team of over 100 medical professionals representing various specialties, the hospital offers a comprehensive range of services, including emergency care, advanced surgical procedures, intensive care, radiology, and laboratory testing.

Dr. Ahmed Mubarak, the hospital's director, recently highlighted the success of the mission. "Our specialist medical team has performed a series of complex surgeries, some of the first of their kind to be conducted in a field hospital setting, " he remarked. These intricate procedures, often involving compound fractures, necessitate the use of cutting-edge medical technologies and specialized materials.

Since its inauguration, the hospital has treated over 180 patients, performing a staggering 430 surgeries, averaging roughly five procedures per day. The scope of these procedures encompasses a wide range, catering to diverse medical needs.

The floating hospital's strategic location in Al Arish proves particularly advantageous. Situated close to the Gaza Strip, it facilitates the swift transfer of patients requiring urgent medical attention. Additionally, the presence of a helipad and dedicated naval vessels further bolsters the hospital's capacity to respond to emergencies.

The UAE's humanitarian efforts have garnered widespread appreciation. The ability of the floating hospital to deliver high-quality medical care, particularly complex surgeries, has demonstrably improved the lives of many Palestinians in Gaza. This initiative serves as a testament to the UAE's unwavering commitment to supporting those in need and fostering regional stability.
