Sheikha Fatima's Campaign Delivers Medical Care to Zanzibar

Thousands of Zanzibari women and children will receive free medical treatment thanks to Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak's global humanitarian campaign. The initiative, launched in May 2018 under the banner "We Are All Our Mother Fatima, " aims to provide vital diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventative healthcare services.

The campaign falls under the umbrella of the Fatima bint Mubarak Volunteering Programme, a testament to Sheikha Fatima's dedication to humanitarian efforts. It's a collaborative effort between several UAE-based organizations including the Zayed Giving Initiative, the General Women's Union (GWU), and the Dar Al Ber Society. International partners like the Sharjah Charity House, the Saudi-German Hospitals Group, and the Zayed Humanitarian Work Academy also contribute to the mission.

Sheikha Fatima's Zanzibari mission builds upon the success of the Millennial Giving Campaign, which has reached millions over the past 18 years, providing medical care to more than 12 million individuals across the globe. The current initiative reflects the UAE's commitment to upholding the humanitarian spirit of the nation's Founding Father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, by alleviating suffering amongst the underprivileged.

Speaking on behalf of the GWU, Noura Al Suwaidi emphasized Sheikha Fatima's unwavering focus on humanitarian work, particularly her dedication to improving the well-being of women and children. Al Suwaidi highlighted the campaign's success in reaching countless women and children through the invaluable service of volunteer medical professionals from the UAE, Egypt, Sudan, Somalia, and Uganda.

The volunteer medical teams play a pivotal role in the mission's success. Their expertise provides much-needed medical care to the Zanzibari population. The GWU director commended the volunteers' contributions, stating they have significantly advanced the campaign's goals.

Sheikha Fatima's initiative extends far beyond offering medical treatment. The campaign also aims to empower women by providing them with opportunities to participate in and lead humanitarian endeavors. This focus aligns with Sheikha Fatima's commitment to promoting women's empowerment and ensuring their voices are heard within the humanitarian sphere.

The launch of Sheikha Fatima's humanitarian campaign in Zanzibar marks a significant chapter in global healthcare efforts. By offering essential medical services and fostering the spirit of volunteerism, the initiative strives to create a healthier future for countless Zanzibari women and children.
