Fujairah Crown Prince Learns of Islamic Authority's Work

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, recently met with officials from the General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments (GAIAE) to discuss the organization's initiatives. The GAIAE is a government entity tasked with overseeing mosques, Islamic centers, and charitable endowments within the Emirate of Fujairah.

During the meeting, GAIAE representatives briefed Sheikh Mohammed on the authority's multifaceted endeavors to serve the spiritual needs of the Emirate's citizens and residents. Discussions centered on the GAIAE's role in promoting Islamic knowledge, managing mosques and ensuring their proper functioning, and overseeing the collection and distribution of Zakat, a mandatory Islamic charitable contribution.

Sheikh Mohammed commended the GAIAE's dedication to preserving Islamic heritage and promoting religious tolerance within Fujairah's diverse community. He highlighted the importance of the GAIAE's efforts in ensuring mosques serve as centers of learning and community gathering, fostering a strong social fabric within the Emirate.

The GAIAE representatives elaborated on their educational programs aimed at spreading Islamic knowledge and promoting understanding of the Quran and Sunnah, the teachings and practices of the Prophet Muhammad. They also detailed their initiatives to provide social services and support to low-income families and individuals.

Sheikh Mohammed emphasized the significance of Zakat in fulfilling the social responsibility pillar of Islam. He underscored the GAIAE's role in ensuring Zakat is collected and distributed efficiently and transparently to those most deserving within the community.

The meeting concluded with Sheikh Mohammed expressing his continued support for the GAIAE's endeavors.
