The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has been announced as the Sustainability Strategic Partner for the 22nd edition of the Arab Media Forum (AMF), solidifying its commitment to promoting sustainable practices throughout the region. The forum, held under the patronage of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, is set to take place from May 27th to 29th at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
This partnership aligns with DEWA's ongoing efforts to support Dubai's ambitious sustainability goals, outlined in the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050 and the Dubai Net Zero Carbon Emissions Strategy 2050. These initiatives aim to achieve a complete transition to clean energy sources by 2050, solidifying Dubai's position as a global leader in sustainability.
DEWA's participation in the AMF reflects its recognition of the media's crucial role in raising awareness about sustainability issues and fostering public support for environmental initiatives. The forum provides a platform for industry experts, policymakers, and media representatives to engage in dialogue and explore solutions for advancing sustainability across the Arab world.
"We are delighted to partner with the Arab Media Forum as the Sustainability Strategic Partner, " said Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA. "This collaboration reflects our commitment to working alongside key stakeholders to promote sustainable development and a greener future for the region. "
Al Tayer highlighted DEWA's pioneering role in implementing world-leading clean energy projects. These projects contribute significantly to achieving Dubai's Net Zero Carbon Emissions Strategy 2050, which aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The AMF is expected to attract a large audience of media professionals, government officials, and sustainability advocates. The event will feature a series of panel discussions, workshops, and presentations focused on various aspects of sustainability, including renewable energy, water conservation, and climate change.
DEWA's participation in the forum will provide an opportunity to showcase its achievements in sustainability and its vision for a sustainable future. The organization will share its expertise and best practices with a global audience, contributing to a collective effort towards a more sustainable future for all.
The Arab Media Forum has a long history of fostering dialogue and promoting collaboration on critical issues facing the Arab world. By joining forces with DEWA, the forum will provide a platform to amplify the message of sustainability and inspire action towards a greener future.
