Abu Dhabi University Cultivates Innovation with Annual Research Competition

Abu Dhabi University (ADU) ignited a spirit of ingenuity among its student body with the launch of the 11th Undergraduate Research and Innovation Competition (URIC) on May 23, 2024. The annual event serves as a prestigious platform for undergraduate researchers to showcase their projects and vie for recognition across a multitude of disciplines.

This year's competition, held under the patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, witnessed enthusiastic participation from students both within the UAE and abroad. ADU embraced a hybrid format, allowing UAE-based students to present their research on campus, while international participants could compete virtually.

URIC boasts a comprehensive competition framework, encompassing 28 diverse tracks. From engineering and business to education, arts, social sciences, and natural and health sciences, the competition fosters a vibrant environment for showcasing research endeavors across a wide spectrum. This year also saw a distinct track dedicated to innovation, encouraging students to present ideas with significant commercialization potential, nurturing an entrepreneurial mindset among the young minds.
