UAE Delivers Lifeline to Gaza as Third Aid Ship Docks in Egypt

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) extended a much-needed helping hand to the people of Gaza as its third aid ship, laden with humanitarian supplies, arrived at Al Arish Port in Egypt on March 23, 2024. This marked a significant milestone in Operation "Chivalrous Knight 3," a comprehensive initiative launched by the UAE to alleviate the suffering of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

The ship, which departed from Fujairah Port, carried a staggering 4,630 tons of essential items. This critical cargo included over 4,200 tons of food supplies, ensuring access to basic necessities for Gaza's residents. Additionally, 370 tons of shelter materials were onboard, providing vital support for those whose homes were damaged or destroyed. Medical aid weighing in at 41.6 tons was also included, bolstering Gaza's healthcare system and its capacity to respond to ongoing medical needs.

The UAE's humanitarian intervention extends beyond the recent arrival. Operation "Chivalrous Knight 3" encompasses a range of initiatives designed to provide long-term assistance. This includes the establishment of two field hospitals – one situated within Gaza itself and another functioning as a floating hospital off the coast of Al Arish. These facilities offer crucial medical services to the Palestinian population. Recognizing the importance of food security, the operation has also seen the launch of five automatic bakeries in Gaza, contributing to a more sustainable food supply.

The UAE's unwavering commitment to supporting the Palestinian people is a testament to the strong bonds of solidarity between the two nations. This latest aid shipment underscores the UAE's leading role in delivering humanitarian assistance in the region. The extensive provisions delivered through Operation "Chivalrous Knight 3" offer a glimmer of hope to the people of Gaza, aiding them in navigating the challenges they face.
