MBRSG and APCO Partner on Generative AI

The Mohammed Bin Rashid School of Government (MBRSG), a leading institution for government education in the United Arab Emirates, and global communications consultancy APCO have joined forces to leverage the potential of Generative AI (GenAI) in government communication strategies. The partnership, formalized through a signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), aims to enhance cooperation and exchange expertise in this rapidly evolving field.

This collaboration marks a significant step towards equipping government officials and leaders with the skills and knowledge necessary to navigate the complex world of GenAI. The MoU outlines plans for the development of educational and training programs specifically tailored to the needs of the public sector. These programs will focus on honing communication skills for government leaders and managers, while simultaneously demystifying GenAI and exploring its practical applications within the realm of government communications.

A key area of focus for the MBRSG-APCO partnership will be research and development. The MoU paves the way for joint exploration of how advanced technologies like GenAI can be harnessed to revolutionize the way governments communicate with their citizens. This could involve utilizing GenAI for tasks such as crafting targeted messaging, generating personalized communication materials, and even developing AI-powered chatbots for citizen engagement.

Dr. Ali bin Sebaa Al Marri, Executive President of MBRSG, highlighted the significance of the MoU, stating, "This memorandum reflects the Mohammed Bin Rashid School of Government's commitment to capacity building to strengthen government work and enable public sector employees to effectively address challenges." He further emphasized the importance of equipping government personnel with the necessary skills to adapt to the ever-changing technological landscape.

Mamoon Sbeih, President of APCO in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, echoed Dr. Al Marri's sentiments, expressing APCO's enthusiasm for the collaboration. "We are delighted to partner with the Mohammed Bin Rashid School of Government on this groundbreaking initiative," he said. "By combining MBRSG's expertise in government training with APCO's global communications experience, we can unlock the immense potential of GenAI to transform the way governments communicate."

The MBRSG-APCO partnership represents a forward-thinking approach to government communication in the age of artificial intelligence. By embracing GenAI technologies and equipping government officials with the necessary skillsets, this collaboration has the potential to usher in a new era of effective and citizen-centric communication for government entities around the world.
