Fakeeh Care inaugurates North Obhur medical centre in Jeddah

Fakeeh Care Group has opened a new medical centre in North Obhur, Jeddah, expanding its outpatient healthcare network and bringing specialist consultations, emergency treatment and diagnostic services closer to communities in the northern part of the city.

The Dr. Soliman Fakeeh Medical Center, situated on Prince Abdulmajeed Street in the Al Shira'a district, occupies a 3,500-square-metre plot and has approximately 11,000 square metres of built-up space. The facility accommodates more than 25 medical clinics alongside diagnostic, therapeutic and rehabilitation services.

The opening forms part of the Saudi healthcare operator's expansion programme, which seeks to increase medical capacity across the kingdom through hospitals and outpatient centres. The company said the North Obhur facility would serve residents and visitors while reducing the need to travel to larger hospitals for routine consultations and specialist treatment.

Dr Mazen Fakeeh, president of Fakeeh Care Group, said the opening reflected the company's strategy of making specialised healthcare more accessible to communities. He emphasised that expanding healthcare involved not only increasing the number of facilities but also integrating medical expertise, service quality and convenient access.

The centre offers family medicine, internal medicine, paediatrics, cardiology, orthopaedics, dermatology, psychiatry, obstetrics and gynaecology, dentistry and ophthalmology. Additional specialties include gastroenterology, endocrinology, ear, nose and throat medicine, general surgery and rheumatology.

Emergency services and a pharmacy operate around the clock, supported by laboratory testing and medical imaging facilities. Diagnostic equipment includes magnetic resonance imaging, computed tomography, X-ray, ultrasound and mammography systems.

Cardiac investigations available at the facility include electrocardiography, echocardiography and stress testing. These services allow doctors to undertake several diagnostic assessments at the centre without referring patients elsewhere solely for the required investigations.

Physiotherapy and rehabilitation services are also available, providing treatment intended to support recovery from injuries, surgery and conditions affecting mobility. The group said these facilities were designed to maintain continuity between diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation.

A day-surgery and endoscopy unit is planned for a subsequent operational phase. The proposed services include selected orthopaedic, general surgical and gynaecological procedures, alongside minor ear, nose and throat operations.

The company indicated that these procedures would be introduced within the scope of services authorised when the unit becomes operational. The announcement did not specify a commissioning date for the additional surgical facilities.

The distinction between existing and planned services is significant because the centre's opening does not mean every component of the development has commenced operations. Its current offering centres on outpatient consultations, emergency care, diagnostics and rehabilitation.

The development also marks the completion of a project whose construction timetable had been revised during implementation. Fakeeh Care's first-quarter 2026 earnings release identified North Obhur as a facility scheduled for completion during the year, with construction substantially finished and final fitting-out work continuing.

That financial disclosure described the project as having 22 clinics, whereas the opening announcement identifies more than 25 clinics. The updated figure indicates a larger reported clinical offering than the capacity outlined during the earlier development stage.

The company had previously awarded construction work for the centre to Advanced Horizons Contracting Company. Its September 2024 stock exchange announcement described plans for outpatient clinics, diagnostic facilities and day-surgery units on land owned by the group.

North Obhur is one component of a wider programme to establish additional medical facilities in Jeddah and other Saudi cities. Projects identified in the group's financial disclosures include a medical centre in Al Zahra district, Jeddah, and another in Alawali, Makkah.

The expansion follows a hub-and-spoke healthcare model under which neighbourhood medical centres provide accessible outpatient services while larger hospitals deliver more complex treatment. Fakeeh Care has described this arrangement as a means of coordinating primary, secondary and specialist healthcare across its network.

The operator's development plans also include a proposed 300-bed hospital in South Obhur. Its first-quarter financial update listed that hospital separately from the newly opened outpatient centre, with a tentative opening target in 2030.

The company has not disclosed a separate final investment figure for the North Obhur centre in its opening announcement. Earlier investment documents grouped several planned medical centres under a broader capital expenditure programme rather than providing a confirmed final cost for each completed facility.

Digital systems at the centre are intended to support patient administration, clinical coordination and the movement of information between departments. Fakeeh Care said these arrangements would help integrate consultations, diagnostic examinations and subsequent treatment within the same facility.
