SEVEN Tabuk expands Saudi leisure network

Saudi Entertainment Ventures has opened SEVEN Tabuk, bringing a major indoor entertainment destination to north-western Saudi Arabia and accelerating its rollout of leisure facilities beyond the Kingdom’s largest cities. The venue is the company’s second destination to begin operations, following the launch of SEVEN Abha earlier this month.

SEVEN, a wholly owned subsidiary of Qiddiya Investment Company, has positioned the Tabuk development as an all-weather destination designed for families, young people and other visitors seeking entertainment, dining and social experiences throughout the year. The opening strengthens Tabuk’s growing role within Saudi Arabia’s tourism and leisure economy as investment spreads into regional cities.

The destination includes Discovery Adventures, an immersive attraction built around exploration-themed environments, and Hot Wheels E-Karting, which brings Mattel’s globally recognised automotive brand into an interactive karting experience. Other attractions include SEVEN-developed concepts Kawaken, Kawaken Junior, GolFi and Cyber Bowling, alongside Scene Cinemas.

SEVEN Tabuk opens from 4pm until midnight on weekdays and remains open until 1am on weekends, while Scene Cinemas operates from 4pm until 3.30am daily. The extended evening hours reflect entertainment consumption patterns across the Kingdom, where leisure activity is concentrated heavily after sunset, particularly during warmer months.

The Tabuk project was announced with an investment value exceeding SAR1 billion and occupies an area of about 40,000 square metres. Construction began in 2023, with the development designed by global architecture firm Gensler as a landscaped entertainment village integrating indoor attractions with gardens and recreational spaces.

Abdullah Al Dawood, chairman of SEVEN, said the Tabuk opening represented another stage in the company’s effort to establish entertainment facilities that are accessible and closely connected with their surrounding communities. The strategy is intended to encourage repeat visits rather than rely solely on large tourism flows, turning entertainment destinations into regular leisure options for residents.

The company expects its projects to support local employment and create commercial opportunities for businesses operating in food, retail, hospitality and entertainment services. Qiddiya has said SEVEN’s broader expansion could generate about 22,000 jobs across the Kingdom as entertainment infrastructure develops in multiple regions.

Environmental measures have also become part of the project’s positioning. SEVEN Tabuk has achieved LEED Gold certification, with the company reporting water savings of about 90%, an 11% improvement in energy efficiency and recycling of 81% of construction waste generated during development.

The opening comes as SEVEN moves from years of construction and planning into an operational phase. The company has been developing a network of entertainment destinations across Saudi Arabia, combining internally developed concepts with international brands. Five destinations were targeted for operation during 2026, including projects in Abha, Tabuk, Yanbu, Madinah and Riyadh’s Al Hamra district.

Qiddiya Investment Company took ownership of SEVEN in 2024 as part of a consolidation of major entertainment assets backed by the Public Investment Fund. The combination placed SEVEN’s regional entertainment network alongside Qiddiya City, the large sports, culture and leisure development outside Riyadh, allowing the companies to coordinate investment, procurement and operating expertise.

SEVEN’s programme forms part of a wider effort to build a domestic entertainment industry under Vision 2030, reducing the amount residents spend on leisure abroad while developing tourism-related businesses and employment at home. Its investment programme has been valued at more than SAR50 billion for entertainment developments across 14 Saudi cities.

That expansion is unfolding alongside large-scale attractions at Qiddiya City, where Six Flags Qiddiya City began operations at the end of 2025 and Aquarabia opened in April. The developments signal a shift from project announcements towards operating assets as Saudi Arabia seeks measurable economic returns from substantial investment in tourism, sport and entertainment.
