The cryptocurrency was trading near $0.085 during the session, after slipping from Friday’s levels and remaining below the resistance that technical analysts say must be cleared before the bullish setup can be treated as confirmed. Market data showed DOGE moving within a roughly $0.084 to $0.088 range over 24 hours, leaving it several percentage points below the $0.090 threshold.
Digital-asset analyst Ali Martinez has identified a bullish flag on Dogecoin’s hourly chart, a continuation pattern that can form after a sharp advance followed by a period of consolidation. Martinez said an hourly close above $0.090 would strengthen the case for a breakout towards $0.115, while $0.081 remains the support level that would need to hold if the token pulls back further.
A move from around $0.090 to $0.115 would amount to an increase of about 28 per cent. The target is based on the approximate size of the preceding upward move, which technical traders use to estimate a potential objective after a confirmed break from a flag pattern. Such projections are not guarantees and can fail if trading volume weakens or the broader market turns lower.
The $0.081 area has also drawn attention because of the volume of tokens previously transacted near that price. On-chain distribution data cited by analysts place roughly 30 billion DOGE around the level, suggesting a sizeable concentration of holders with a cost basis close to that zone. That can make the area more significant during pullbacks because buyers may defend it, although heavy selling can turn former support into resistance.
Dogecoin reached about $0.0903 on Friday before retreating, underscoring the difficulty buyers have faced in establishing a sustained move above the resistance area. It closed that session around $0.0852 after opening near $0.0892, with the day’s decline interrupting a short run of gains earlier in the week.
The token had traded as high as about $0.093 on Monday before falling back, then recovered through Wednesday and Thursday as buyers pushed it from the mid-$0.08 range towards $0.09. Saturday’s softer trading left the market consolidating below the proposed breakout point rather than confirming the bullish pattern.
The technical structure therefore remains conditional. A decisive hourly close above $0.090, preferably accompanied by stronger volume, would provide clearer evidence that buyers have regained control of the short-term trend. Failure to clear that level would leave DOGE vulnerable to another test of $0.081, while a sustained break below that support would weaken the continuation case.
Beyond the first target, analysts monitoring on-chain supply have identified higher resistance around $0.177, where another concentration of previously transacted DOGE could create selling pressure if the token were to extend its advance substantially. That level remains well above the immediate trading range and would become relevant only if the nearer resistance zones are cleared.
Dogecoin’s August performance has nevertheless been stronger than in several earlier months of 2026. The token has traded close to $0.10 at its monthly high, but it remains well below levels seen during previous rallies and is still exposed to the sharp swings typical of highly traded meme-linked cryptocurrencies.
Broader digital-asset conditions remain an important influence. Dogecoin often moves in the same direction as larger cryptocurrencies during periods of market-wide risk taking or deleveraging, meaning a technically constructive chart can be disrupted by weakness elsewhere. Bitcoin was also under pressure around the end of the week, limiting the strength of speculative demand across parts of the crypto market.
