Since 1985, WrestleMania has been hosted exclusively in the United States or Canada; this shift to Riyadh represents a significant strategic expansion under WWE’s 10-year partnership with Saudi Arabia, signed in 2018. The event will form part of Riyadh Season, a major entertainment festival in the Kingdom.
Triple H described the decision as an opportunity to showcase WWE as a truly global brand, citing the company’s growing international appeal and its evolution in events hosted in Saudi Arabia. Turki Alalshikh echoed similar sentiments, saying WWE’s legacy and prestige among wrestling fans worldwide will be elevated through this hosting.

WrestleMania 42 is scheduled for April 2026 in Las Vegas before this overseas expansion.
Women’s participation has been increasingly prominent during past WWE events in Saudi Arabia. Bianca Belair, speaking during the announcement, said that having WrestleMania in Riyadh highlights the progress of inclusion and the role of female wrestlers in what she described as “making moments and history.”
